ACDelco Air Conditioning Oil Polyolester (POE) is a low moisture, synthetic, compressor oil. It is designed for use with electric air conditioning units (RPO HP2) or for use on 2008-2011 General Motors C/K Pickup and Utility trucks. The cartridge comes sealed in a foil bag to prevent excess moisture and contamination. ACDelco Air Conditioning Oil POE requires the use of an applicator tool that is not included. ⚠
FAQ - Answer 1 | No, the moisture count is too low in POE compressor oil and will not properly protect A/C systems that requires PAG oil. |
FAQ - Answer 2 | No, compressor oil will only need to be serviced if it is contaminated or the fluid has leaked out. |
FAQ - Answer 3 | No, it is only necessary to flush out the system if the system is contaminated. Then the system will need to be flushed before it is refilled with refrigerant and oil. |
FAQ - Answer 4 | Yes, in almost all cases, the ACDelco Oil Injector Kit J45037 will be required for newer vehicles or when you don't want to lose refrigerant. |
FAQ - Question 1 | Can I use polyolester (POE) compressor oil in my A/C system that requires polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil? |
FAQ - Question 2 | Do I need to change my A/C compressor oil? |
FAQ - Question 3 | Do I need to flush my A/C system when I change my compressor oil? |
FAQ - Question 4 | Do I need special tools to change my compressor oil? |
Good Maintenance Practices - Section 1 - Bullet 1 | Do not use POE oil that has been open to the atmosphere (outside the bag) for longer than two hours. POE oil will absorb moisture from the air around it and can cause compressor damage. |
Good Maintenance Practices - Section 1 - Bullet 2 | It is important to use the correct amount of compressor oil in your air conditioning (A/C) system, too much or too little may compromise A/C system performance and compressor life. |
Good Maintenance Practices - Section 1 - Bullet 3 | Always use the correct compressor oil for your air conditioning system. Using the wrong compressor oil can harm the entire cooling system. |

Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting - Section 1 - Bullet 1 | Contamination: If poor A/C performance is due to compressor oil contamination, empty and flush the A/C system, then refill with new oil and refrigerant. |
Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting - Section 1 - Bullet 2 | Low oil levels: Oil can break down or leak out of the A/C system over time. If this is the cause of poor A/C performance, then it is important to refill with new oil. |
Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting - Section 1 - Header | One cause of poor air conditioning (A/C) performance is compressor failure. There are two main reasons why A/C compressors fail: |
