An ACDelco GM Original Equipment Ignition Coil is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle's original component, and undergoes more stringent testing than aftermarket products. It increases electrical system voltage to help ignite the air/fuel mixture as the starting and charging system starts the engine, maintains the battery's charge, and provides power to the electrical accessories while the engine is running. An ACDelco GM OE Ignition Coil uses pure copper windings to improve durability and provide higher resistance to internal shorts and dielectric breakdown. Because the number and shape of the laminations determine the output characteristics of an ignition coil, ACDelco ensures that the silicone steel plates surrounding the coil correctly match the original part size and number. Since steel laminations work best when they are new, shiny, and clean, ACDelco laminations are coated to hinder corrosion and many feature molded plastic protection to help ensure that nothing is exposed. This original equipment ignition coil has been manufactured to fit your GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors. ?

FAQ - Answer 1 | When your 'Service Engine Soon' light illuminates, that is an indication that there is a potential issue with the drivability, electronics, or emissions of your engine. |
FAQ - Answer 2 | Preventative maintenance should be referenced in your owner's manual, and, while repairing or having your 'Service Engine Soon' light repaired, if your vehicle is due for maintenance, yes. As described in your owner's manual, this maintenance will help prevent future issues. |
FAQ - Answer 3 | Possibly. Sometimes, the triggering device will reset itself thus turning off the 'Service Engine Soon' light until that device/sensor is tested by the vehicles on board computer again. If it fails the test again when tested, the 'Service Engine Soon' light will illuminate once again. Some devices/sensors when tested and failed will illuminate the 'Service Engine Soon' and it will not go out until correct service work is performed. |
FAQ - Answer 4 | General Motors has designed the vehicle to inform its driver if there is an issue with certain devices/sensors that effect the drivability/emissions. If this is ignored, there is a possibility that the drivability will suffer, fuel economy will be decreased, or the emissions being emitted will be increased. Do not ignore the 'Service Engine Soon' light. |
FAQ - Answer 5 | No. When state and local officials perform certified emission tests, one of the first steps in the process is to inspect for a 'Service Engine Soon'. If it is on, it will automatically fail the test. |
FAQ - Answer 6 | No. The 'Service Engine Soon' is related to engine emissions and drivability conditions. Please refer to your owner's manual maintenance schedule for information pertaining to tune up time intervals. |
FAQ - Question 1 | Is there a problem when my 'Service Engine Soon' light appears? |
FAQ - Question 2 | While investigating what triggered the 'Service Engine Soon' light, do you recommend any additional services? |
FAQ - Question 3 | If I don't investigate the problem, will the light turn off by itself? |
FAQ - Question 4 | If I ignore the light, will there be consequences? |
